PREPARE FOR A JOB INTERVIEW

In preparing for job interviews you may wish to draw on all four of the following:

  • Your list of Spotlight skills acquired in previous work (as shown in the list at the end of your Spotlight profile)
  • Your profile of skills used in your current job (as shown on your radial diagram)
  • Your short-to-medium term training and development goals (as shown on your radial diagram)
  • Your list of longer-term development goals (as shown in the list at the end of your Spotlight profile)

Doing your Spotlight profile may remind you of how you have managed difficult or delicate situations in present or past jobs. Keep a note of these examples, as they may be helpful in job interviews.

From now on it is a good idea to document and keep an ‘evidence portfolio’ of your use of the Spotlight skills, especially as you learn new and significant Spotlight skills. This may come in useful at job interviews.
