Normally, an interview panel will meet before the interviews in order to clarify the selection criteria, to prepare interview questions based on them and to determine decision-making procedures. The sample questions can be modified to fit the specific vacancy.


For example, a candidate may be told “ in this job it is very important to choose the right moment to convey unwelcome news and judge from the client’s reaction how much to say ”. They may then be asked “please describe a situation where you had to be very aware of the reactions of other people”.


The panel may need to adapt the questions somewhat, depending on the demands of the job. The chosen questions will be allocated to various panel members. The same panel member will ask each applicant the allocated question in the same way.
